I can confirm you do get 1 free checked bag when booking LATAM through BA Avios but no free seat selection. My route is from LIM-CUZ and was marked as 'Lite' fare.
My flights (yet to be taken) are all marked as T class in MMB. But some of them have 1x23kg bag and some of them do not.
So I think it is variable which LATAM class an Avios economy booking goes into.
But to be fair the agents who booked most of these flights seemed completely clueless and got lots of things wrong, so I may just have been unlucky.
