If you use a Trip Pass, which you may be able to purchase as a United Travel Option when pulling up your itinerary on the app and on the website, you just scan your boarding pass when trying to enter the United Club. No need to confuse the agent by bringing up the method by which you are entering the Club. Ignore the "no one-time pass" sign, if one is up.
