Only because NW actually designed a decent terminal from scratch. It would be interesting to look at future planes for CLT to see if there are any upgrades coming down the road.
They did have that luxury. And it's no surprise why the new SLC terminals look like DTW. But with the added convenience of an extra tunnel connection.
