UA does not have a miles+cash option for award tickets but it does have a "Money+Miles" option for cash tickets, where miles are converted 1 cpm.

Not for award tickets but yes for cash tickets. Note FFC and ETCs can not be mixed.

The UA option is not available for all partner flights but this seems to be improving

Note another 1 cpm option is MP Choice Points Q&A [Consolidated] (Moved to Chase.com, renamed Pay Yourself Back)

So while 1 cpm isn't great redemption, it might work to use some miles.

You can generally buy miles from UA for about 2 CPM but may have trouble getting that value in a redemption.
