Hey guys,

I am earning miles now on Aeroplan, but thinking of switching to United Mileageplus. For award travel with Aeroplan, you need at least 60% of the miles of the 'standard' award ticket, to do a combination of miles+cash.
For example: If a 'standard' Aeroplan award ticket YYZ-AMS is 100k miles, you only need 60K in miles to combine it with cash.

I have 0 miles (yet) in my Mileageplus, so I was checking if I already could book an award ticket. Unfortunately (but logically) United is not showing met de miles+cash option, probably due to me having 0 miles.

My questions:

1. Does United Mileagplus, just like Aeroplan, has a treshold for award tickets using miles+cash? Or is just 1 mile enough maybe?
2. I also have a lot of Travel Credit and Electronic Travel Certificates. Can I use that for the 'cash' portion, when booking an award ticket?
