For me, any card plugging is no better/worse than the charity collection plugging they've done in those announcements for what seems like decades. Might not be, but swear I remember actual cash collection envelopes on board.

If anything, the main issue is it's always been too long and has weird wording gripes that annoy me, e.g. 'contact a member of the crew'. They're on the plane... you speak with them, you don't fill in a webform. But that's just me being grumpy
