Yes it can be 40+ in temp but generally we get anywhere from 2-12 days per summer over 40 otherwise the weather is often 25-35c
Encounter bay is about 1 hour drive south of the city but the whole region down that way is worth visiting.
If you're a wine drinker then there are 3 incredible wine regions within 1 hour of the city being, McLaren Vale, Barossa and Langhorne creek.
Thanks, I’ll file away the info for another time as I’ve booked the flight to HBA for this time.

I might be able to deal with the heat or maybe I’m not really appreciating even 30c weather for walking around a lot. Prefer dry weather, even if hot, to wet and cooler weather. We will see what Southeastern Tasmania is like in late January, early February.
