I also just looked this hotel up and of course I understand mixed reviews from different folks but there seems to be a common denominator of lack of cleanliness in this hotel. Some reviews, pictures and comments that would tell me not to stay here?
Yes, complimentary beer and wine, see picture. And it’s served to you by a uniformed Marriott employee that is stationed in the lounge during meal hours. Nutz! Pretty sure you can take an entire family into the lounge with you. It’s like going back in time.
It was very clean. Just run-down/older. Truly no different than the Westin next door. Other than the huge, newer pool, the Westin offers much less for Bonvoy members (only free breakfast). I prefer the Marriott.
I do have a room picture, see below, on a Bonvoy status floor. Called Concierge Level, which is an auto-upgrade for Platinum and above.
Again, all for as little as $115/night. Don’t forget the 1000 point welcome gift, too. Could be one of the best Marriott deals in the U.S.

(P.S. They also offered me a free three-day Planet Fitness pass, which is located across the street.)
