Probably just have to try it with a small amount first and see. I have found that credit card issuers categorize purchases inconsistently. For example, my Amex card classifies Fred Meyer as a grocery store while my Visa calls it general merchandise. I had a recent online purchase which Amex said was not an online purchase because it was a specialty category, so I used my Visa for my second purchase from them and they called it an online purchase.
If you are loading $100, I would not risk $5 in credit card rewards for $2 worth of miles.
