I asked pretty much exactly the same question here:
Baggage on KL coded CM operated light fare

TA tells me that KLM has ensured them that checking in 1pc of luggage using status is no problem. We'll see, will report back. Purchasing a first bag at the airport for a KL+CM flight is 110 euro according to KLM.
