The ribbon cutting/private showcase is definitely on the 25th. It’s always possible they could change when the lounge opens for passengers as they haven’t officially released details for the general opening.

Yes - an annoying 5 hour connection, too, so the D1 lounge would make it significantly more enjoyable. Though the VS and even regular Skyclub is pretty good, too.
