Indeed. This is the critical distinction:

One Time Pass (OTP)
Day Pass (so-called Trip Pass, above)

If the United Club receptionist is confused, emphasize that you have a Day Pass and not a One Time Pass. Point out the language on the posted sign specifically referring to non-acceptance of OTPs. Maybe go bring in the sign if necessary.

If that doesn't help, ask for a supervisor.

As a last resort, do a chargeback of the Day Pass portion of your ticket, after the whole trip is over. You already tried to resolve this with the vendor, as required by the banks. Be sure to write everything down immediately after it happens, including any info from receptionist nametags.
