I booked a hotel via Cap1 portal in order to do a price match. I have the same reservation made directly with hotel for $566 cheaper by using discount code available on hotel's website.
When I called cap1 travel to do a price match, they told me, you can't use discount codes, but this is not mentioned in terms and conditions, published on their website, which I mentioned to them. Talked to a supervisor, he said no go, so I cancelled. Wanted to get 10x instead of 5x with WF Autograph Journey. Here are the terms and conditions:
- Qualification criteria. To qualify for Capital One Travel’s price match guarantee, you must keep your original itinerary and the cheaper itinerary found must be:
- An exact match to the original itinerary that was made within the last 24 hours (including the cancellation policy, i.e. refundable or non-refundable);
- Priced in USD, including any taxes and fees;
- Available to the general public. For example, this means that the rate doesn’t require the customer to log into a site or have a special membership;
- Available at the time the customer contacts us. Our agent must be able to verify that the lower price exists.
