is there a free seat further forward? i think generally the curtain shift just moves those affected back to the first free seats - i don't get the sense you are moved as far back as possible even tho free seats further forward exist. can you not move her further forward if you do olci for her booking?

edit: i have a feeling there may be additional limitations for choosing a seat when you have a toddler as well due to overhead oxygen masks?
