As you say some people are paying £k’s for First. Respectfully you weren’t one of them so factoring in the Avios savings from upgrading J to F alongside the goodwill gesture, I would guess you’ve essentially paid a couple of hundred pounds to travel in First over CW. Whilst those service failings I would find annoying/ disappointing too they are relatively minor so in your circumstances I think BA’s offer is reasonable and you’re getting good value for money.
Perhaps I haven’t made my point very well. I wasn’t looking for financial compensation, just making my point that the service was way below what I would expect.
