I was thinking about the EPISODE after my stay (Other locations - and strangely could only find Tblisi? and Hsinchu, Taiwan) ...and I realized I was confusing the brand with Marriott EDITION!

and as I write this I'm realizing the one in Tblisi is something else entirely..non-Hyatt.

So EPISODE is a sub-brand of JdV Hyatt? And there are literally only two of them in the world? Or rather - just a local new-ish Taiwan brand?

But yeah -- once the Texas Roadhouse opens, and the little cafe at the entrance, that will improve things a bit. Nearest breakfast restaurant I found was McDonalds otherwise, and that was a bit of a morning walk. Assuming you don't count Family Mart! which is a 1-2 minute walk, if that. If there was something closer nearby, I missed it.

Nearest food court at SOGO mall. Decent supermarket down in basement as well. TWO Sogos kiddie corner...only went to one.

In the Hyatt portfolio...if you don't want to be in the central Taipei 101 core - Grand Hyatt (Amazing breakfast I'll add - for hotel guests only I see, and someone mentioned earlier)...and don't want to be in the New Taipei zone (Which is more car-oriented I feel...at least near Hyatt Place -- though you can walk to Honhui Plaza quite quickly...10 minutes? Mega large roomy food court there on 7th floor, and Starbucks/Komeda's coffee on ground floor among others) ...then EPISODE Daan is better positioned. Though the view is nothing to write home about. And rooms are medium-small-ish...but that's par in that part of Taipei I imagine. Quite functional though.

Marriott has a much bigger footprint in Taipei. 11 hotels I count...not including Taoyuan or similar outside Taipei immediate area & near suburbs.

As for HP - breakfast @ Doricious was alright, maybe I'll try dinner there tomorrow.....nice very high ceiling rooms. GH rooms were quite low ceiling by comparison. (Older building...) EPISODE Daan maybe somewhere in between? And unbeatable walking distance to MRT...unlike HP nearby MRT (New Taipei Xinzhuang)- which I've yet to try. Inconvenient MRT lines for me as well. There's a shuttle bus...but doesn't work for me.
