I know a sample size of one isn't indicative of a larger trend, but this is exactly my point.

Price Basic fares aggressively and make it clear that there are many more limitations imposed versus the current industry standard expectation - that is indicative of WestJet trying to capture a new market segment.

Price Basic fares the same, or above the price of your regular "Standard" fare ticket and using it as an excuse to increase fare prices of all other fares - that is some scummy BS, and if that's what WestJet is doing I hope they pay a pretty penny for their crappy antics.
