But like you said, the system is automatic. But given how antiquated the Qantas refund process is, I have serious doubts I would get anywhere with this request. Why it takes a full day to get an email saying they are processing a refund makes no sense; and the email has no information about said refund.
First of all.good.luck with your endeavours. Many of us have been bitten by Qantas. Transparency is not within their vocabulary . They don't even show booking fare class of ticket until booked.
