For me the primary benefit has been SQM and E-up rollovers, and the E-up extension going forward is pretty good. I've also used the companion pass a couple of times, and the SQM boost is icing on the cake. Add in a few Amex offers, and it has paid for itself in spades since I first got it.
This. The Amex reserve to me is worth far more than the annual fee. WCP saved me $1,411, so already more than twice the annual fee. I’m SE anyway so like was said some perks are meaningless. But who cares when just one metric of the card has already more than doubled the fee.
Add into that the rollovers, which as a SE get me threshold rewards and made me at least $200 just through earning the 20k points threshold I wouldn’t have otherwise hit. eUp expiry extend is another benefit harder to quantify but is well worth it. And like you said the Amex offers which got me a free year of Disney+ last year and $60 off this year. Plus saved the nexus fee on my renewal last year.
That all being before factoring in the sign up bonus a few years back and the day-to-day earn plus the SQM boosts… oh, and Emirates First class lounge access…
Honestly it’s a high annual fee, but it does more heavy lifting in my wallet than any other card in there!
