LapLap Thanks for the comments/ideas. I am with you on the liquids baggy being in an outside pocket in case I need to remove it. However, I have all of those other things I have easily accessible in my laptop bag, which is also at a more convenient height (sitting on top of the rollaboard). As I said in my OP, this is very dependent on personal preferences. Maybe if I end up with a rollaboard with all of these external pockets I will start finding novel uses for them.
A rollable case AND a laptop bag is a rare luxury nowadays. I generally need to store a laptop/ipad inside a case when checking in/boarding so, until I’ve extracted it at my airplane seat, nothing inside that bag is easily accessible.
