Why so? I've taken the train to Alex and found nothing to complain about
: they're comfortable enough (in 1st class!), immune to traffic jams and downright punctual by Egyptian standards. Cairo-Alex is probably the busiest leg of the network and you can even ride the French-made 160 km/h Turbos, the pride of Egyptian Railways.
