If I have an award ticket booked NY-ATL-xxx with an overnight in ATL, can I SDC the first flight (NY-ATL) to an earlier one to create a longer connection in ATL? Either way I can't connect the same day so I would be taking the first available flight out the next morning. Hoping to give myself more sleeping time at the hotel in ATL than the 6 hours I'd probably currently get.

And a second question...if I get upgraded on the NY-ATL flight does that make it easier/harder to SDC? Would I just be looking for last F seat availability on an earlier flight?
