This is a problem that is really close to my heart.



If you use BA then all flights from YVR will go to London, UK (there is one in Ontario – for those that don’t know). Depending on dates this could be LHR or LGW. I first just look at this leg of a trip. If I can find a flight that I like, then I follow up with wherever I want to go (usually in Europe). Once I have this information, I phone BA to put it all together. This usually works.



If you would like to stay in the UK, then note that it is almost always cheaper to go to Europe (AMS, CDG, sometimes BRU) and take the Chunnel train back.



If you want to go west from Vancouver (something I haven’t done in decades), I suppose that you would have to use Qantas, Cathay or Japan airlines. I can’t help you there



Just a note before I end, if you are in Calgary, BA does fly out of Edmonton. This would give you another good option.
