Sorry if this question asked before.

I remember my Avios was going to expire about a year ago but I booked an award flight to go on a trip and this obviously reset the 36months.

So now I can't go on trip and need to cancel but I've had no other activity on my account other than this redemption. Does anyone know if canceling the award negates the original activity that made the account active again?

Im thinking I'm fine because it just matters that I tried to at least redeem an award every 36months, right? I mean they are going to get my cancellation fee from the cancelled award flight after all.
