That's a wonderful benefit of SPG. I've never had problems getting award stays at SPG (if the hotel is not full). HH is another story.

Note, however, that there are many more HH properties than SPG, so availability may somtimes be an issue. And as wsbombers have noted, you should consider which hotel chain you're more inclined to go with. I love SPG, so I got the SPG Amex. When I used to give a lot of business to HH, I had the HH Amex.
