Likely there is a clause in the agreement around inability to supply, or perhaps the parties met and reached a subsequent amendment to the original agreement that reflected the abilities and needs of the parties at that time. Kinda reasonable and happens all the time in business. However, if you have different information or a better theory, please bring it forward.
