Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Mixed feeling
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic Room, received King Suite (formerly called Junior Suite) on lower floor.
How are the rooms?
65 sqm. Plain design, but engineering design philosophy, especially the basic structure of the bathrooms showed a design philosophy that was decades ahead of the early 90s, when the hotel was completed. 2x 50 inch Panasonic LCD TV, Nespresso, Sofa set, Panasonic shower toilet, and proper work desk. Mattress is very firm, people's preferences will be polarising.

How is the exec. lounge?
Many people say that this hotel’s TAIPAN Lounge (REGENT Club on the 19th floor) is outstanding. But, from my point of view, mediocre. if I had experienced this in ten years ago, I would have freely praised it, but now it is ordinary for a hotel of this class. A cozy place and relatively good food (alcoholic beverages are mediocre, though), but no WOW, especially in breakfast. I couldn't find anything that like “I want to come back here!”.

BTW, Milestone Rewards Annual Lounge membership are not granted to access the TAIPAN Lounge. Access to the Balcony Lounge (5th floor) is granted. The Balcony Lounge is much smaller than the TAIPAN Lounge and has a very limited food and beverage offering, open from 15:00-21:00. Only beer is served during the evening cocktail time. This means that non-RA or non-Diamond members are not offered complimentary breakfast. If you are granted to access the Balcony Lounge only, you will have breakfast at the Brasserie in the ground floor.
To be honest, there are so many good local restaurants option around the hotel, I don’t see any advantage or value for money in both lounges. I thought there was no need to stick around to get access to the lounge.
How was the mini-bar?
Free of charge, but soft drinks only. Not so attractive.

Depends on the situation. To be honest, I prefer Kimpton Da An or Indigo Taipei North.
