Agree with prior poster that 45 min in Denver is not a real issue. Surprised me often my connection gates end up next to or across from each other.
if you are in back of plane high likelihood flight will have started boarding and you would lose an A boarding position.
i also will say that my perception is that southwest is one of the few airlines that really monitors incoming passenger connections. I think they will not close the door in the outbound flight when the arriving plane is within some time window. Especially if there are
multiple passengers connecting and if it’s the last flight odds increase . This opinion/perception coming as a 60-80 flights a year SW traveller.
so would I do it, sure. But i travel enough to play the odds and then accept the few times a year my gamble loses without stressing or getting mad at SW for it
the last flight of the day they will generally hold for connectors if they are about to land and the count of them. Thry wait longer if you have a 40 person group trying to connect.
