I have a one-way award IAD-CDG-VCE that arrives late in VCE. I called Flying Blue to see if I could change the second leg to an earlier flight. The CSR said I could but he would have to cancel my current booking and rebook it as a new award. This threw up a red flag in my mind so I asked if the new booking would be priced at the current award I have or priced at current award rates. He stated that the old award rate would apply.

That seems kind of unlikely to me if it's a cancel and rebook. Does anyone have any experience with how this pricing works?
