Headed from BCN to SFO and have two travel options using Flying Blue points:

1. Take train from Barcelona to Paris (rather train than fly most of the time), stay overnight in Paris, then fly direct from CDG to SFO with Air France on A350-900
2. Fly from BCN to SFO with a 3h55m layover in AMS, then fly AMS to SFO with KLM on 787-9

I know both are quality products, but curious to see what the main differences are and recommendations for two adults traveling.
