8D has plenty of underseat access, though you’ll need to reach a little for it. 8C does not - you have to share the space under a single seat with 8A. The space in front of you on 8C is basically the first class aisle. This has some benefits in the form of infinite legroom, but also has cons of people bumping into you and no real stowage space to yourself.
