We’re considering a weekend here in the next couple of months.
Are you playing golf?
How are the F&B option? Mainly interested in your thoughts on breakfast. Not many options locally.
I did not play golf; but I understand that the golf is worth the experience.
I did not have breakfast. Rather, I had dinner at Croft, which is one of the restaurants there. Avoid it. The food was sub-par — pun intended — and overpriced; and the service was average. Based on that, I avoided breakfast the next morning.
I cannot really pinpoint the pretentiousness other than some members of the staff acted as though the resort was significantly more than it really was. For example, Auld Alliance — which is the fine dining option — has a very strict dress code. Bring a jacket if you want to dine there, as others were turned away despite the restaurant being close to empty. The valet parking was $43.00 per night, which is an odd amount — and this resort property has no self-parking option.
I found the room to be quite quiet and comfortable; and I enjoyed the heated swimming pool and the smaller hot jetted pool.
