Sorry, you're right: Stumptown, not Counter Culture (which is a coffee brand out of Durham, NC).
Apparently (according to my F/A friend) it's only a problem on the old 800 and 900s. Earlier this week, both flights on the 800 had no hot beverages. I'm on an older 900 now, same thing.
The newer jets, including the MAX, have newer coffee machines that apparently don't have this issue.
