So interesting....
Reality is on CE the large AA F Domestic seats are simply not going to happen. Demand in CE is quite variable and BA wants to capitalise on that and so the flexibility to change the cabin size based on will mean this will never happen. Also some routes are regularly 12 rows of CE (Nice etc) and others its much less - there would either be a much smaller J cabin with people disappointed or a much larger one with endless upgrading meaning higher prices for those who paid. Also the lack of flexibility of the cabin would drive prices up. There would be far fewer cheap CE fares with it pretty much having to be GBP 1,000 a round trip and with the likes of the LCC's there just simply isn't a big enough market for this kind of offering.
The TLV/CAI/AMM issue is much the same. BA can send the long haulers out there but then expect prices to go up. AF used to offer a long haul product to CAI but at around 3k a round trip - way above anything BA asks. Again with EZY and the likes flying there the market for such offerings is tiny. Also by using SH airframes BA can offer 2 flights a day to these sorts of places rather than a single flight which can be a big advantage for people on business so though we would all like the long haul product to come back, I doubt that this will happen any time soon either....
