It has been 8 years since I left DFW so my expereience is dated, but on several occaisions I would drive to the last Orange Line station (Belt Line Rd I think?) and leave my car there for a week plus. It was there every time and was great for a total outlay of $5.
Not quite as long for me, and I recall seeing cars covered with dust at station when on the way to / from Inwood Station.
Of course there is a new station at Hidden Ridge on the Orange Line since you left (between Dallas College Northlake and Irving Convention Center).
