Tonight was my first SS-eligible YYZ-CPH (of 3 in the past 8 days) that was on time.

So around T-25, I decided to sign off the FT Zoom, pack up, use the bathroom, and head to the gate.

As I was leaving, I heard a terminal-wide final boarding call (around T-20).

As I was walking to the gate, I heard another AC flight announce something very close to "We are now boarding zone 3. Use any of the three open lanes."

I can't even. I am extremely glad that wasn't my flight. But what if it had been? I would have been strolling over from the SS, expecting to enter the (empty) zone 1 lane, and board. But instead, as is typical in YYZ INT, I would have been stuck behind a bunch of zone 3 pax, in the zone 1 lane.

Quoting AC.com:

Priority guests in zones 1 and 2 may continue to use dedicated lanes, available at most of our gates, to board at any time once general boarding has started.
How the hell am I supposed to use a dedicated lane if the GA deliberately fills it with subsequent zones?

Give me what I paid for.

P.S. AC 828, my flight, at T-17, was sufficiently boarded that all lanes were empty. So this was my first flight (of four) in the past week out of YYZ INT where my flight's boarding did not piss me off. But AC still managed to piss me off (with respect to boarding) on the way from the lounge to the gate due to that other flight.
