ANA catering is hit or miss, especially in the back. I am not a picky eater but definitely had some of the worst airplane food in my life flying IAD-HND in Y a couple of years ago. It was not as bad as flying UA out of PEK, but pretty close.
Until around the early 2010s, they stocked Freixenet Cordon Negro in international economy class. Then they got rid of it because of cost cutting. You know they are tight when they can't afford convenience store wine.
