Claiming missing points for a BA flight on a Cathay round the world ticket

Hello, I could do with a bit of advice. I did a RTW earlier this year and one flight in the RTW itinerary did not automatically get credited to my BA gold account even though the EC number was in the booking and on the boarding pass. It was Rome to London in business on BA in May. The whole RTW ticket was issued by CX, which was the first airline I travelled on in the itinerary. So when I put in my ticket number on the BA website to claim the missing flight, I only have a CX ticket number starting with 160 (but a BA flight number from Rome to London) and I keep getting rejected as on the "partner claim" page there's no option to put in a BA flight number. But if I try and claim on the "BA" missing flights page I get the following message.

"You can claim missing Avios 3 days after a flight has departed, and up to 6 months after this date. Please check the details on your ticket match the ones in your Executive Club account to claim"

Clearly there's no mismatch as the gold number is in the overall itinerary I received for the booking, every other flight worked fine and the BA gold number appears on the BA boarding pass for the Rome to London flight. The problem seems to be that, while it was a BA flight that I travelled on, the flight booked and taken was issued as part of a Oneworld itinerary ticketed by CX (ticket numbers starting with 160 rather than 125). I can't imagine this problem hasn't come up before given it's the same airline alliance and I wondered how others had got it sorted out.

Many thanks.
