Honestly, light rail in the DFW area is mostly a gimmick, due to very intermittent scheduling and a very sparse station layout. It can be used, with careful scheduling, to get to the airport for a trip, but I’d be worried about my vehicle parked long-term at a station, even with their recent introduction of some “long-term” spot. It is, honestly, not usable for commuting to/from work in 99% of the cases.
It has been 8 years since I left DFW so my expereience is dated, but on several occaisions I would drive to the last Orange Line station (Belt Line Rd I think?) and leave my car there for a week plus. It was there every time and was great for a total outlay of $5.
