Review from my stay last week…..

Pro’s:
- Beautiful lobby, bar area, nice restaurant.
- good location
- from the 3 rooms I visited it appears the welcome chocolate is an every room thing… has nothing to do with status. “Suites” include a sparkling non-alcoholic beverage as well.

Cons:
- staff was 50/50. Lady who checked me in was quite rude. No elite recognition. Looked like she didn’t want to do her job and didn’t want to talk with me. I asked about an elite status room upgrade and was told I was upgraded to the “executive room” and they were 100% sold out and couldn’t do any better. Apparently “executive room” just means 10th floor of the new side building.
- new tower rooms are small
- no a/c in heritage rooms (could be an issue in warmer months)
- basic breakfast
- parking isn’t convenient when dragging luggage or raining.

- I always test the ac first thing when I get to my room… as someone who sleeps very hot. I found the ac had a horrible rattling noise. I called the front desk and the gentleman at the other check in desk came up to check it out. He agreed with me it was unacceptable as he wouldn’t be able to sleep with the noise himself and he told me maintenance wouldn’t be back until the next day. He immediately offered to move me to a different room and said he would come right back with a new key. He returned with a 9th floor corner room key for the back of the new tower.

The 9th floor room was fine. But looked right into a construction site of the building next door. Since this guy seems very friendly and helpful I decided to head back down to see if there were any other options as I was already moving. He said there was a jr suite in the heritage side of the building on the 5th floor but he said none of the heritage rooms are equipped with ac. He offered to show me the room either way so I could make up my mind. (At this point I was annoyed by the First Lady who said they were 100% sold out and yet clearly there were plenty of other options).

Heritage room ended up being much cooler in temp to start with and the windows opened wide allowing for the cool air to enter. While I wouldn’t call it a suite. It was a nicely sized room. It was on the street but I used ear plugs and left the window open all night. I liked the Heritage room much more than the tiny room in the new tower.
