I'm a Plat and still get upgraded virtually everytime I fly AA. But flying in F is certainly not what it once was. Unless I'm flying in "premium" F on a three class flight, it's nothing to write home about. At one time, I looked forward to flying First Class and getting the better service and a relatively good meal. But those days are long gone. I just flew MIA-LAS in F and could not believe the crappy lunch! The meals in Steerage used to be better than what is now served in First Class. Just before the price of e-upgrades last increased, I bought loads of them. (Then the price went down a short time later.) If not for all the upgrades I still have from that purchase, I probably would never upgrade anymore.
