Check in when it opens - if Qantas wants to move people it will either (a) advertise that changes can be made or (b) may look at your booking and just reroute you on another route to London.

If you phone to just request a move, it is likely that your ticket will just be reqpriced for the new desired itinerary - though you could try phoning and seeing whether there is some waiver in place
