I am not but the other half is, not sure if that had something to do with it. But the manner he used to send us to the regular line was very un-Japanese although it seemed he was looking to pick the fight from the get go as he yelled at us to show the Apec card while we were still in the line, not in front of him - he seemed plainly annoyed that we were there in the first place as he looked up with an unhappy face as soon as we joined the line.

There were other inspectors at the APEC line but they didn’t say anything or even look up.

Perhaps two males traveling together, one white, one Asian, with one looking (but not actually being) much younger than the other was beyond his tolerance when I pointed at my other half and said “family”
