January destinations in Australia
Currently have a UA award, SFO-SYD-CNS and SYD-SFO. But I learned that January is cyclone season in Northern QL.
I can find an award to BNE toward the end of January but the average rainfall in the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and GC are still high.
So I was thinking of Adelaide, a 3-hour flight from BNE. But I also wonder about Perth. I've heard that Adelaide is very hot, maybe 40 degrees Celsius. How is Perth?
Now I would have 4 or 5 nights in either destination, the rest of the time would be split between Melbourne/VIC and Sydney/NSW, particularly day trips along the coast.
Is it work flying across the continent to PER for just 4 or 5 nights? Is the weather better there in Jan/Feb
Apart from the weather, is there a lot to see. I am drawn to coastal landscapes, especially the dramatic ones like in Victoria and NSW near Royal National Park to Kiama.
The coastal areas around Adelaide appear rather flat unless you drive some distance, like Encounter Bay. I haven't really looked at photos of Perth and WA yet.
