So I wanted to detail my experience whilst using this amazing fare.
I booked two round trips, totalling 8 segments, 1120 TP total.
The first two segments, AUH-CMB-CGK everything went as according to plan and I enjoyed my flights.
After 2 wonderful weeks in Indonesia and Thailand, I was getting ready for a marathon:
CGK-CMB-AUH
1 night AUH near airport
AUH-CMB-CGK
1 night CGK near airport
CGK-CMB-AUH
private car transfer to DXB (own dime)
1 night DXB near airport
DXB-back to Europe
And here is where things got interesting...
As I was eating breakfast in CGK, getting ready to start the marathon, I received an email saying my CMB-AUH flight got cancelled.
Thanks to the recommendations on this forum, I immediately emailed the UL AUH ticket office, with cc to the AUH station manager, asking for rebooking options.
I asked to be rebooked on CMB-DXB (on a flat bed A330 at least), and be given a chauffeur driver to my hotel in AUH.
Upon arrival at the UL check-in counter in CGK, the kind agents informed me that as a business class passenger, I was rebooked on EY CMB-AUH.
(side note, economy class passengers were not given the same courtesy)
I kindly asked about the option of UL to DXB, as requested in my email, followed by private chauffeur to AUH, as I personally did not want to deal with trying to chase original routing tier points and risk not getting those somehow. The CGK check in staff accommodated my re-route, so I was on the way.
In the meantime a written confirmation from the AUH office confirming my private transfer to AUH arrived in my email, so I was happily on my way.
The following flights, CGK-CMB-DXB (chauffeur to AUH) AUH-CMB-CGK were uneventful. However, as I was sitting on the aircraft getting ready to depart CGK on the final 2 legs of my entire trip on UL, CGK-CMB-AUH, I received a cancellation email that the same CMB-AUH flight from a few days prior, was indeed cancelled again. I was able to see on manage my booking that I had once again been rebooked to DXB, which for me was actually beneficial, enabling me to cancel and refund my own booked AUH-DXB car service, as my hotel that night was at DXB airport, due to my flight back to Europe being out of DXB the following morning.
Overall, of course 2 cancellations on the same route within few days is nothing great, UL handled it well, and I believe in part due to the proactive communication with the AUH ticket office and station manager, all things were well sorted.
Now the last issue I have with BA, so far not a single of 8 flights have posted TP or Avios. With the first 2 flights now being over 3 weeks ago. After 7 days, I filled out the online missing avios form, and after a few days it changed the status to "rejected". Any tips on this? I have resubmitted said 2 flights flights, plus the other 6 as well, as by now its 7 days after my last UL flight. AS a point, I have made pictures of all boarding passes, and made sure my BA number was listed on all of them.
