We made the mistake of doing the Polynesian show on our anniversary last month. Ugh! Total waste of money in our opinion. Food was seriously bland and mediocre. The Polynesian food on our full day Lagoon Service snorkel tour was so much better!!! The show was almost laughable. There are columns supporting the restaurant pavilion that block the views for most people and the main fire dancer guy kept dropping the fire things like it was his first day on the job. Dancers were ok. Show was only 40 minutes. The drummers were the best part. No liquor drinks for purchase, just beer and wine. How can you have a Polynesian show without a Mai Tai? Our waiter wasn’t good either. Still can’t believe we spent like $350 on that. Really wish we had taken the advice here and gone to town that night. The Chinese restaurant and room service were also open, in addition to Upa Upa as well. We thought the free show at Upa Upa on Sunday night was better. Maybe I’m jaded since I’ve seen much better shows in Hawaii and Fiji but was just thoroughly unimpressed, especially for the price.
