Transit time in FRA

Good morning,
I know that this topic has been discussed multiple times. I'm looking for some advice about transit time in FRA.
I'd like to buy a ticket from the UK to Italy via Frankfurt. I'm given an option with a layover in FRA of exactly 2 hours.
I'm a little bit concerned that 2h is little. My last experience with Lufthansa dates back to March. I flew from the UK to a destination in Central Asia. I didn't need to go through passport control but I had to go through security again because of the different terminals. Security can take some time in Frankfurt and also going from gate to gate it took 40/45 minutes (including security). I had to take the train.
When flying from the UK to Italy via Frankfurt, I'd have to go through passport control. Assuming that the flights are on time, 2h is enough but I won't have a lot of buffer time. Back in 2021, I picked an 1h30min connection and almost missed my flight. My luggage didn't make it on my next flight though.
Taking everything into account, I'd be keen on picking a longer layover but I'm looking for some advice.
Thank you
