Today's maths question:
Original booking BWI-LHR and LHR-IAD in WT+ (T both ways) + car. BWI-LHR was cancelled so rerouted.to DCA-BOS+BOS-LHR and LHR-IAD.(Y+T & T) + car.
Approximate air miles (calculated rather than 'BA') would have been 3620 & 3670, but rebooked would be 398+3250 & 3760.
Account shows avios as 0, 4890, 5516 and TPs as 20, 90, 90 for each of the flights respectively.
i) I understand that BAH uses the old mile-to-avios calculation, so 100%+Gold bonus (+100%), so avios awarded odd (working out at about 1.5x rather than 2x)
ii) no avios for the rebooked DCA-BOS segment (BA ticketed, AA metal)
iii) I suspect that if/when the 2x TP bonus is credited it will be just the (90+90)*2, rather than (20+90+90)*2... (?).
