I am glad the "small issue" that you think can be resolved with "a quick post-confirmation email"at the Holiday Inn did not dissuade you from booking there, unlike the small issue that could be resolved with a quick pre-booking email at the Doubletree which you decided was proof of the ineptitude of (Hilton? The Doubletree? The internet?). I hope all your expectations for low/mid range city hotels are met
