If the flight is operated by another carrier and not a code-share, you will not get a check-in reminder email. You should have received an email confirmation. I have a AA award flight booked and I got an email with the AA confirmation code for seat assignments. Check your spam?
I checked my spam and trash basically everywhere but couldn't find it just some pre covid AS awards on CX.
